The Sunshine Coast? Its all lies!

Well here I am in sunny Noosa...only t'int been sunny! Its rained pretty much constantly since arriving on the Sunshine Coast, which has really spoilt the previous couple of weeks of glorious weather. This being said, I still got out to Australia Zoo today, which was the brainchild of Steve Irwin, and was still really good, despite the occasional monsoon. It was a much smaller zoo than others I've been to, with a much stronger message on conservation, and really felt like they were actually trying to make an impact.
Saw quite a few crocs, well it would only be right knowing what Steve Irwin was like! Also had loads of other native Australian animals, including wombats (three different kinds), Tasmanian Devils, Dingoes (OK not native, but been here 3500 years), koalas (I got to hold one! It was trying to poo everywhere!), kangaroos (hand feed a kangaroo, anyone?). Hopefully will get to see some wild koalas in the Noosa Heads National Park before my bus to Brisbane tomorrow - again I guess it really depends on the weather, but now seen (and def heard) wild kookaburras, bloody things woke me up this morning!
Heading further south tomorrow, Brisbane should only be a temporary stop before getting to Byron Bay, doing a bit of surfing, then heading all the way down to Sydney...

  1. All sounds so lovely! Argh! So cannot wait until I get there. Though Cali is sunny and beautiful too and the person I'm staying with right now has a pool and a gym in her apartment block, it's like a hotel!
